A falu a Csoszon-kori építészet és hagyományok élő emléke, és 2010 óta az UNESCO Világörökség része.
A falu híres a Hahoe álarcos/ maszkos tánc (하회탈춤) pjolsingut thalnori (byeolsingut talnori)
előadásairól, amely tánctípus a koreai kultúra fontos része.
